So you're saying "the weather started getting rough"?

I'm kinda sad I missed the day when we clinched being in first place at the "half"way point.

MIN: 200 300 001 - 6 10 0
MFY: 050 000 02x - 7 13 0

Shemp hit a 2-run dinger in the 8th and it looks like Fruitbat's 9th was not smooth.

Jays off today. Right now, they are both 11.5 GB.

Like Robinson Crusoe
It's as primative as can be

It was those 50 votes from Bot and his wife that did it. Send my man to San Fran, its closer to Japan!!

Doesn't have anything to do with today's game but spotted this at The Soul of Baseball blog Yaz 67.

Pretty good recap of what Yaz did in the final 12 games to carry the impossible dream team.

3 up 3 down by the K, everybody drink!

I voted for Young as well; he deserves it.

Beckett starts by striking out the side, wow.

And then...and then...6-0. Go go Coco. He's back...back to stay?

Howell will NOT last three hours

He may not have lasted three hours, but I bet he wishes he was on the island!!!

Line single; DP ball to Jeter that he missed (just found out from your linescore here that it wasn't called an error. I don't get that one. Kay's call "that was a double play ball."); strikeout but the guy steals second, so single would tie game; FC scores one, still guy on second; last batter checks swing on 3-2 pitch, Yanks do the aggressive appeal complete with crowd nudging, and ump punches guy out to get the glory. Too bad they're a dozen back.

Rooting for Beckett to break Roger's record tonight. Big lead means we can root for TB balls NOT to be caught so he has another chance at a strikeout...

Both the Tigers and Sox are flexing their muscles today in anticipation of the games this weekend.

Q: Will Jerry Remy ever be able to read through a promo without screwing it up in some way?

(Hint to Remy: Practice reading it at least once beforehand.)

Hey, can't blame him on "vorite." (Although I would've preferred it if he held the sheet up to the camera for true proof.)

The Boston Red Sox optioned rookie center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury to Class AAA Pawtucket of the International League following Thursday night's game.

Thanks, Kid . We will see you real soon. Also thanks for lighting a fire under Coco.

Last night's game was an outstanding choice for the DO drinking game. "And the Devil Rays get the bad news!"
