Drew Will Start On Wednesday

J.D. Drew will return to the lineup tomorrow afternoon. Jacoby Ellsbury will play right field tonight.

Mike Timlin had the stitches removed from his lacerated right ring finger on Sunday. He may pitch in a game or two for Pawtucket before rejoining the Sox. ... Josh Beckett was scheduled to start an intrasquad game and throw about 65 pitches this morning.

The Red Sox signed Japanese free-agent RHP Terumasa Matsuo and assigned him to extended spring training camp in Fort Myers. Matsuo, 26, pitched for the Kagawa Olive Guyners in the independent Shikoku Island League and was named the league's MVP (1.72 ERA, 159 strikeouts in 152 innings). In 2006, he posted a 1.82 ERA.

Jon Deeble, the Pacific Rim coordinator for the Red Sox: "We look forward to having him pitch in a Red Sox uniform this upcoming season."
