G9: Tigers 7, Red Sox 2

Tigers - 000 400 021 - 7 10 2
Red Sox - 020 000 000 - 2 9 0
Kansas City shutout the Yankees 4-0. Toronto and Tampa also lost. Baltimore was rained out, so every team dropped another half-game behind the Orioles.

***

Jeremy Bonderman (5.68, 71 ERA+) / Jon Lester (3.38, 124 ERA+)

I would love to see Lester follow Dice's example of pitching aggressively and economically to the Tigers.

Wicked Sid almost had enough tonight. But not quite. At least it was fun watching the Yanks score stay at 0 all night on the scoreboard.

Amy, I'm glad you're going Friday, so am I. I hope you logged on to the ticket office that night when they put Yankee tickets on sale and didn't pay more than face value....
