With the Yankees (19-21) one half-game out of the AL East cellar, Mr. Hankee is not pleased:
We've got to forget about all the injuries and start playing our butts off. ... These players are being paid a lot of money and they had better decide for themselves to earn that money. ... I'm not saying they are not giving the effort, but they need to be playing harder. ...I guess the honeymoon for Joe Girardi is over. Less than three months ago, Hank claimed that Girardi would be "one of the greatest managers in the history of the game".
This is going to get turned around. If it's not turned around this year, then it will be turned around next year, by force if we have too.
