How Can We Miss You If You Won't Go Away?

I'm forever grateful for 2004, but the sooner Curt Schilling forever cuts all ties with my favourite baseball team, the happier I will be.

On Wednesday, Schilling took time out of his busy schedule to call into WEEI and criticize a long-gone teammate, needlessly stirring up shit when the Red Sox are fighting for a division title and trying to get their roster in order for the playoffs.

And, of course, Schilling, who has done less than nothing to help the 2008 Red Sox, had to say this:
I'm the last person in the world who should be telling you who's right and who's wrong in this.
And that, as we all know (i.e., I'm not a racist, but), is a springboard to do exactly what the speaker said he shouldn't be doing: unload on Manny.

Here, Curt, have a drink on me.

I concur.

Schilling also said something to the effect that "What you guys hear and see is 10-20% of what went on."

He needs to either (a) back up what he says and spill the beans or (b) try a whole lot harder to shut his fucking yap.

This "Trust me I know what was going on, but I'm not going to tell you what I know, so there, but it was really bad" line is utter bullshit.

Hey, I also appreciate his work in 2007 as well. :D

Schilling really is a lot easier to tolerate when he's pounding the strike zone every fifth day, instead of chilling with his uber-white family and talking shit about everybody. It's almost like people that talk shit and threaten lives on the Internet.

I apologize if this was already posted but I hadn't seen it yet and it's pretty good. (How did Masterson and Hansack get off so easy? This one's pretty good too.

Make up your mind, either you want him to spill the beans or shut up.....Curt Schilling can do no wrong in my eyes, ever......

Curt never gave up on his team, And I believe it is becoming more evident that Manny Ramirez was a problem, and also was not playing to his ability......so fuck him stay in LA .I will be interested to see what other players have to say after the season...FY already said during the Jimmy Fund Telethon, he was a problem, should he shut the fuck or spill the beans?.....

Either tell us what was so bad about Manny or don't bother saying anything.

Because this halfway pose -- where he says he knows really bad stuff but then doesn't tell us -- is the same wishy-washy bullshit the media gives us (e.g., Mazz, in the Herald). And I'm sick of it.

Schilling wants to say something -- because he's GOT TO be involved in this story, somehow, even though he's done fuck-all for this team this year -- and so he calls WEEI on his own dime to offer his two cents -- but then doesn't have the fucking balls to actually say the words.

If he's got something to say ... HE SHOULD SAY IT! Don't waste our time with this mealy-mouth bullshit.

I also heard some radio dipshit--I wish I remember who as I'd love to be able to rip him by "respected" name--saying how "there are several things you're not hearing about Manny, and they'll all come out." If you know something, say it.

This reminds me of the CI - not that CI, wmtc's CI - threats to "release" my emails. Oh boy, if you only saw what L-girl wrote us, man would you hate her, and we'll show you, we will, in three days, uh, make that one week, or 2 weeks, or... oh well, I guess we forgot.

If supposedly they've got all this dirt, but no one will say what it is, chances are good it doesn't exist.

I just read a really annoying article in SI about Curt Schilling ... where he told John McCain "whatever you need John, I'll be there."
Oh, brother.

I would have thought that by this time even Schilling would realize that McCain is a lying, flipflopping, war-mongering sack of shit whose brain is clearly misfiring a lot of the time -- apparently not knowing where Spain was during a recent interview -- but I guess not. Brand loyalty runs deep.

I would never pick Schilling as a friend or colleague, but I will never forget what he did in 2004. So like 9Casey, I cut him some slack and ignore his mouth as much as possible. Especially his politics.

he's a shameless, mindless, fundy republican cunt. Who I, unfortunately, am forever grateful for in regards to 04.

Curt's politics are his own business (as are Pedroia's), and I don't agree with either of them, but you do NOT, as Curt did in a 2004 interview, tell people to "Register to vote, and vote for Bush." That pissed me off.

He can say whatever he wants. And I'll say whatever I want about it. He can go pray behind the mound in a big look-at-me gesture -- and I'll criticize him for that.

If the Red Sox, as his employer, want him to knock it off, they'll tell him. Maybe they did that in 2004, because he did amend his comments.
