Masterson May Start Monday

Sean McAdam, Herald:
The Sox are leaning toward having Justin Masterson take [Daisuke] Matsuzaka's spot in the rotation. Masterson was stretched out as a starter for most of spring training and contributed four innings in Tuesday's loss. Masterson's first turn in Matsuzaka's place will be on Patriots Day against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park Monday at 11 a.m.

The Sox also gave consideration to promoting Clay Buchholz from Pawtucket, but Buchholz is experiencing hamstring issues and may not be available.

All because of a tight muscle in his leg?

We have a staff littered with Cy Young canidates and Wake steps up and lets that ball float like magic , sometimes not so good magic , sometimes great magic....
He's an intersting baseball player to say the least.....

“I understand the circumstances of today,” Wakefield recalled telling his manager. “No matter what, don’t take me out.”

That probably makes the most sense right now since Masterson is already on the roster. Otherwise you're running players back and forth between Boston, Pawtucket, and Portland.

Once again, you can never have enough starting pitching!
