Tazawa Will Start Next Tuesday

Alex Speier, WEEI:
Red Sox manager Terry Francona announced that rookie pitcher Junichi Tazawa will get the start for the Sox Tuesday against Detroit at Fenway Park. "If he'd have thrown more Friday we wouldn't have done this," Francona said, referencing Tazawa's 1.2-inning, 35-pitch major league debut, against the Yankees.
Speier also reports
Daisuke Matsuzaka is scheduled to throw a 40-pitch bullpen session Tuesday before progressing to 50 pitches on Friday, and 65 pitches Monday, Aug. 17.

Cool! He earned it.

Better ERA by season's end, Tazawa or Daisuke?

I just hope he's a lot better than Smoltz was.

I can't wait to see him start a game. I'm not expecting a whole lot because of it being his first MLB start and all, but just as long as he keeps his pitch count down and he goes deep, we should be good.
