Red Sox Score 14+ Runs in Back-To-Back Games Twice In Three Weeks

From 1901-2010, the Red Sox had scored 14+ runs in consecutive games eight times, but never in the same season.

They have now done it twice in 2011 ... within a span of only 17 games!
May 25: 14-2 at Cleveland
May 26: 14-1 at Tigers

June 10: 16-4 at Blue Jays
June 11: 14-1 at Blue Jays
Back on May 27, I posted the complete list of Boston's back-to-back 14+ run games. This weekend's routs were the first time the Red Sox had done it to the same team in 58 years.

The Blue Jays had allowed 14+ runs in back-to-back games once before: at home against Seattle on the weekend of April 15-16, 2000 (17-6, 19-7).

from the "I wish I hadn't said that..." file.

In comments at your post of June 4 "Consecutive Triples", I had this to say (bold brackets newly added):

"As Boston fans probably know - the Indian's (Jay's) staff is starting to show a few chinks (14-2) (14-1, 16-4) --- and the bug is catching, minor explosions here and there (Toronto) all over the place it seems."

I listened today on the radio and, as Youk drove one out to make it 14 runs for Boston, I thought to myself: "Didn't the Sox score 14-plus runs in back-to-back games already this year? I remember reading that on JoS recently."

Wonder how John Farrell felt sitting in the opposite dugout as his old club clobbered the shit out of his team all weekend?

Judging by the look on his face, he didn't enjoy it much :-)
