David Ortiz is 0-for-his-last-22.

Jerry Remy will not return to the NESN booth this season.

The Rays (2.5 GB) are in Oakland tonight.

I guess the JoSer who said we wouldn't see Remy any more this season was right. I wonder if he will go straight into retirement. If so, a sad way to end his broadcast career.

From a fan's perspective, though, NESN broadcasts are almost guaranteed to improve.

Yay LBJ! Plus I love to see him linked to our Harry Hooper. Lotta years in between!

Very good piece by Edes that you linked to. I feel really sorry for Remy.

I feel really sorry for Remy.

If I recall from news reports, it was Remy's wife who told Martel the day before her death not to extend the protection order because it could "ruin" their son's life. (Naturally, he could have violated it even if it had still been in effect.)

Indeed, women are killed with the restraining order in their bags and in their hands. But how Remy's wife must feel... geez.

I often think it would be even worse to be the parent of the killer than the killed. I felt that way after Columbine.
